1. Only two instances have been recorded in the IPL where a team managed to win a match despite losing five or more wickets within the powerplay. Delhi Capitals became the latest team to achieve this feat, as they lost five wickets by the end of the fifth over in their match on Tuesday. The first such instance occurred in 2016 when Royal Challengers Bangalore chased down 159 against Gujarat Lions despite losing five wickets in just 5.3 overs.
2. Delhi Capitals set a new record for the lowest total from which a team has won an IPL match when they managed to win despite losing their fifth wicket at a mere total of 23 runs. The previous record was held by Royal Challengers Bangalore, who won a match against Gujarat Lions in 2016 after losing their fifth wicket at a total of 29 runs during the Qualifier.
3. Gujarat Titans have lost two out of the 14 chases they have attempted in the IPL. Their most recent unsuccessful chase was against Mumbai Indians last year when they lost by a margin of five runs while chasing a total of 178.
4. The top five batters of Delhi Capitals could only manage to score 21 runs collectively in their recent IPL match. This is the second-lowest total by a winning team in the IPL, behind the 16 runs scored by Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2017.
5. Delhi Capitals defended a total of 130 for 8 in their match in Ahmedabad, which is the lowest total they have ever successfully defended in the IPL. Their previous lowest was 144 for 9 against Sunrisers Hyderabad last week. It is worth noting that Delhi Capitals had never won a match while defending a total of less than 150 before this season.
