Conway and Jadeja lead CSK to a comprehensive win
Chennai Super Kings steadily chased down a target of 135 against Sunrisers Hyderabad on a slow and tricky pitch at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, with Devon Conway scoring his third consecutive half-century. Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets and, alongside Maheesh Theekshana, was economical in his bowling, restricting the Sunrisers’ momentum after a strong start. Despite having three spinners in their side, the Sunrisers were unable to trouble the Super Kings batters, and ultimately lost by seven wickets.
The match changed after the time-out, with the pitch becoming more rugged, and Jadeja’s bowling proved to be match-defining as he took three important wickets, including that of Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, and Mayank Agarwal. Sunrisers slid from 71 for 1 to 95 for 5, sealing their fate in the game.
