MS Dhoni, captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), said that his team needs to improve their performance in tight finishes like the one against the Punjab Kings on Sunday. Although he praised Matheesha Pathirana’s bowling, he highlighted the need for improvement in the powerplay overs, particularly by the fast bowlers.
CSK has the highest economy rate in the powerplay this season and has conceded the most number of fours and sixes. Despite scoring 200 runs, CSK lost the match because they did not execute their game plan effectively. Dhoni emphasized the importance of bowling the right lengths and being prepared to deliver the right type of delivery based on the opposition’s need for runs.
